HUMANISTIC PSYCHOLOGY: (psychology)

As humanistic psychologist I direct my attention to the whole person and their scope for change. I do not accept the reductionist approach of many researches, which sees human action simply as collections of separate mechanisms (this is what I called Fragmentation of humanity), and I also argue against the dehumanisation and objectifying of human behavior produced by trivial investigations in controlled "social" environments, and in laboratories. My humanistic position is that psychologists should take more account of the whole person including attitudes, values and responses to social situations including responses to experimental situations as well. The idea to study people in a fragmented way is to ignore the essence of what is to be human.

Another point I want to bring is the tendency of human beings towards personal growth and development, this tendency is what we called in humanistic Psychology "growth motive", which is fundamental to an understanding of mentally health behavior! We can't ignore that it is something inside us that moves us to a new understanding of life and it is our choice to ignore it or allow it to express fully through our human experience.

Why am I a big fan of Carl Jung's analytical Psychology?

I do really believe Carl Jung was very close to the understanding of human nature. He was brave enough to talk about things that were forbidden in traditional psychology. To understand his approach we have to go to the roots of his work.

I'm pleased to present my simple summary of his amazing theory. I hope you can get the idea!
Jung, Carl Gustav (1875-1961) He was born in Kessewil , Switzerland and was during his early school days that he became fully aware of his existence during one of his walks to school. As this awareness became clear to him, he reveled in the knowledge that he was an autonomous being who controlled his own life instead of being continually controlled by others. This was the beginning of Jung's later focus on the importance of "inner-experience". Jung did study medicine and decided to specialize in psychiatry. He had an interest in natural science and a preoccupation with religious and philosophical values. This concern with conflict between opposites became the foundation of his later theorizing.

Jung developed what is called Analytical Psychology which was based on the idea of archetypes- powerful symbols which are deep in the collective unconscious of humankind. He found the fantasies and delusions of his patients were in many respects similar to the myths and fantasies that guided people in contemporary and ancient cultures. Another important concept for Jung was synchronicity. This principle refers to the belief that sometimes two events occur at the same time, but one event does not cause the other. Jung believed that space and time were relative to archetypes and that they could readily move through and embrace the past, present, and future as one in space and time.

Jung wanted to develop a psychology that dealt with human aspirations and spiritual needs. In this respect he was an important forerunner of the Humanist Movement. He also argued that the way to self-realization was through the rediscovery of the spiritual self.

Despite the ambiguity in Jung's work, today scientists are increasingly becoming interested in testing some of Jun's complex and original ideas.

I consider myself a big fan of Jung's Analytical Psychology, his work inspires me to go beyond the traditional thinking process and explore other possibilities or realities...
I'm inviting you to explore, to be creative to change and the most important thing to grow mentally, physically and spiritually. This is the new Psychology, this is my psychology!
