PSYCHOLOGY AND HOLISTIC LIVING:
Many people are frustrated with conventional health care and want to pursue alternative treatments but don't have enough information or do not feel comfortable telling their doctors about it. Many are very interested in a different approach but don't know how to find what really works or a good practitioner but the truth is that our medical system is changing rapidly for the better as the conventional and alternative systems begin to merge into what is called Integrative Medicine, which includes traditional Psychology as well. The result of this combination is the transformation of your health, filling you with natural energy, vitality and well-being for the rest of your life!
As Psychologist and healtheologist, my intention is to promote Integration and I do believe in Integrative practice. I know that both traditional and alternative practices have their benefits and their limitations, but together they provide the best benefits for all of us. This approach can be applied to personal growth, processes in general as well as to all kinds of psychological and emotional problems and disorders.
What are alternative, complementary and integrative medicine?
Conventional or traditional western medicine is what most of us grew up with: the concept of physicians treating a particular problem ( when you get sick) usually through prescription, certain drugs, therapies. or surgery. We can't deny that has been a successful system that has helped the world to get rid of diseases and infections however little attention was paid to prevention.
Alternative, natural and holistic medicine are widely used terms for a variety of healing therapies. The practitioners are focused on wholeness and integrate body, mind, and soul to create balance and harmony.
When alternative medicine is used as part of conventional-western medicine, the combination is called complementary medicine. Today many health centers and hospitals offer complementary treatments.
I encourage you to educate yourself and explore new possibilities. Be active, be involved in your own healing process. It is time to take action and go beyond the traditional system. Remember that you are not just another "patient".
